Connection MacBook 13" Early 13 with LG Ultra Gear 32GQ850

Hi everyone,

Really need your help. I want to connect my Mac book with the monitor but straight hdmi doesn't work.

Video connection ports mac book:

  • Thunderbolt digital video output
  • Native Mini DisplayPort output
  • DVI output using Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter (sold separately)
  • VGA output using Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter (sold separately)
  • Dual-link DVI output using Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter (sold separately)

LG ULTRA GEAR 32GQ850 ports:

  • Display port 1.4
  • HDMI 2.1
  • USB A 3.2 GEN1

Please tell me that there is an adaptor to connect, or else I must return the monitor.

Thanks!

Sure, try cablesformac.com.. you do have an hdmi port on your MacBook but it’s HDMI 1.4 ( and HDCP 1.X) which is limited to 1080 resolution… if you did want to try hdmi, you’d have to buy an hdmi 1.4 to 2.X box( hdmi HDCP converter) plus an hdmi 2.0/2.1 cable.. I’d go into the niceties of why you need to do it that way, but you wouldn’t be that interested and I’m not in the mood to type a whole bunch in replying to your question
