I turned my VPN off in error on my IPad and not sure how to enable it again as when I click to turn it on its asking for description, server,user authentication etc. Can anyone help me please as I do not know where to find this information as I’m not very good at this.

Perhaps you have been using a third-party VPN App - instead of manually configuring a VPN connection in iPad settings?
If you are manually configuring your VPN connection, you will need to obtain the settings from your VPN Provider. Contributors here have absolutely no way to speculate as to the specific VPN Protocol or server parameters that you need to use.
