icloud backups (Big Sur 11.7.10)

My old Macbook runs Big Sur 11.7.10.

I know iCloud automatically backs-up stuff but, for the first time, I wanted to prompt an immediate fresh back-up of my Documents Folder.

Using path: System Preferences / iCloud - followed by a click on the 'iCloud Drive Option Button' I see a display of Apps & Docs stored in iCloud (each with a 'checked' tick-box next to every App icon).

When I click inside that list on 'Desktop & Documents Folders', it highlights in 'dark-blue'. A second click on the same item fails to produce any further change of view or additional options. Also clicked the white button labelled 'Documents' at top of the same screen-view, but nothing happened. The only other clickable option was the blue 'Done' button at the foot of the same view.

If I follow path: System Preferences / iCloud / 'Manage' Button, then (in iCloud Storage) click on 'Backups' it shows two iPhone Backups but no Macbook Backup yet when I click on the iCloud Drive Menu in Finder - 'Documents' appears in the list of items in Cloud Drive.

Where do I have to navigate to in order to be able to prompt an instant fresh backup of my Documents Folder?

Thanks in advance for any response (appreciated).
