How to return a device purchased from local Apple Store in the US?

Hi,


How to return a device purchased from a local Apple Store in the US, which was later taken abroad. Returning to the US is not an option. The salesperson did not inform me that a newer, better model at the same price would be released in 5 days, which I consider deceitful and unfair to the customer.

If you have an Apple Store in your country, you can ask if they'll accept a return of a US-sold Mac. They may not, but it won't hurt to ask. However, you have only 14 days from the date of purchase to return any product to Apple. If it's been more than that, they won't accept a return no matter the country.


As to your complaint about the salesperson, typically the salepeople in Apple Stores don't get any advance notice of new products. They find out the same day the rest of us do. So you were almost certainly not deceived; the sales rep didn't know.

You'll need to ship it to someone you trust in the US.
