Is allowing full-disk access tp Carbonite safe?

I keep getting onscreen messages from Carbonite (which I have) to allow it full disk access. I have macOS Monterey on my iMac. Is this safe to do and, if so, how do I accomplish it?

iMac 24″, macOS 14.6

You do know that Carbonite can't backup and restore Photos libraries, right? The format of their servers (any online storage except Apple's iCloud Photos) is incompatible with the complex ecosystem of a Photos library.

So if value your photos back them up locally to a Time Machine drive. Restoring from a TM backup is quicker than from an online backup.

I don't see how you have any choice, of course you have to grant Carbonite full disk access, how else can it back up all your files to the cloud?

Carbonite will have possession (and safekeeping) of all your files from your Mac in its cloud backup storage areas if you use its backup service. If you don't trust them, uninstall their app and don't use it. I think they are a trustworthy company.

With Monterey, you open System Preferences, go to Privacy and Security settings, and scroll down to find the Full Disk access options.
