iPhone Accessory Prevents Charging

My iPhone tells me there’s an accessory that prevents charging when the power cord is connected.

Not a lot to go on with your post, so I'm going to respond to it in a more general manner.

The "Accessory May Not Be Supported" or "Accessory Prevents Charging" message on your iPhone typically appears due to compatibility or power issues between the phone and the connected accessory or charging cable.

As such, what have you tried, so far yourself, to resolve this?

For example:

  • Make sure you're using an Apple-certified cable and power adapter, as non-certified accessories can sometimes trigger compatibility errors. If you’re already using an official Apple cable, check for any visible damage like fraying or bent connectors.
  • Dust, lint, or debris inside the charging port can interfere with the connection, causing the phone to think there’s an incompatible accessory.
  • Have you tried using a different power source? Different power adapter? Different charging cable?
  • Have you simply tried restarting your phone?
  • Is your iPhone SE running the latest version of iOS?
