iTunes song order

I imported a cd in iTunes, however, the song listings in my iTunes song library doesn’t match the song listings in the album. When I click on songs in the library, the title order is:

part one

part three

part two

When I click on albums in the library:

part one

part two

part three

Sorting the songs view by Title does just that (alphanumerically, with no intuition that two comes before three or that 10 comes after 2), not usually the same order as tracks appear on the album, which is why I suggested sorting Songs as Album by Artist. You might temporarily sort by Title while, for example, comparing alternate versions of the same songs, but a more conventional sort order will be useful the rest of the time. Albums are very rarely released with a set of tracks in alphabetical order. I don't think iTunes has served up the wrong listing on this occasion (although I don't actually know which album you are referring to) but it can happen. I recall many years ago now trying to get the track order for ‎Comedy Classics by Goons on Apple Music corrected without success. In the store the details for tracks 1-6 are (or at least were) in fact for 1,3,4,5,6,2 respectively.

Typically you want the Songs view of the library sorted as say Album by Artist, which happens if you click the heading of the Album column to select it as the sort column, then click again to cycle between Album, Album by Artist, and Album By Artist/Year. Sorting on most other column headings won't necessarily display the tracks of an album in sequence. If they are still out of order then check for consistent use of disc numbers and the various sort fields. See https://samsoft.org.uk/iTunes/grouping.asp for further advice if needed.

Thank-you for your assistance. And while your suggestion work. I noticed that I my song list is ranked by title in my iTunes library. This forced the song labeled as Part Three, (4th of 4 songs on the cd) ahead of the song labeled Part Two, (3rd of 4 songs) alphabetically. Abruptly changing the flow of the album (when listening to the songs library). I changed the song titles in my library to Part 1 (One), Part 2 (Two), and Part 3 (Three) and they match the song order on the album in my library. 1, 2, and 3, worked in the new titles by themselves. I added additional descriptors for clarity.

Funny that the iTunes software overwrote the cd song listings for this album. I wonder if I would have had the same issue had I bought the album from iTunes.
