Unknown download running upon startup, MacOS Big Sur

Hi all,

I could use a bit of insight because something unusual seems to be happening. I started my computer tonight for the first time in a week and it says "Downloading 43 items, 75.88gb of 76.30gb." The download has been stagnant at 75.88gb, but that is a huge amount to be downloading in the background and to my knowledge, I am completely unsure what this could be. I should not I also have a 120gb Bootcamp partition that I would very much like to dissolve, so I will be looking into that because I am not using it and I gave t far too much space in my storage.

It should be said that I am working on a MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2016, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports), 2.9 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5, 8 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3, Intel Iris Graphics 550 1536 MB and I am running MacOS Big Sur Version 11.7.10. My computer is supposedly in a state of duress as the Logic board, if I'm ont mistaken, this was a few months ago - is on its way out, according to a kind Apple genius who seemed to be behaving very candidly in telling me I should no longer hope to update because the signs are pointing to a high potential for bricking if I put the computer under significant processing stresses by updating. My colors on my screen are flickering and the blacks have been washed out with high intensity greens, most of the time - although it does bounce back and forth. My aim is to protect and care for this computer for as long as I'm able to without having it brick on me. We have been kind to one another, I was so sad to fiknd out it's in a horrible state and its days could be numbered. That being said, this is really making me nervous and so i want to clean out anything that could be potentially invading my space without my knowledge, though I surely would have given it consent y downloading the app in the first place. I ran Activity Monitor system diagnostics, and i am not a coder and do not understand if I'm missing the smoking gun, because it all seems pretty typical without a big old red flag.

Should I delete the following apps(Cleaner One Pro, Disk Cleaner, AntiVirusOne, MacCleaner Pro) and what recommendations can be made for apps to help detect malware, run antivirus, run system diagnostics and actually alert me in plain language when action must be taken? To start, am I asking the right questions? Does anything stand out to you as something egregious I am missing?

I know these are a ton of questions and they are extensive in nature for each one, but I really could use some assistance from someone more experienced - especially becuse the Apple Store Geniuses refuse to help in resolving any issues or answering further question, suggesting next moves purely because I will not update to the most recent OS, which I was - if you recall - advised against from a Mac Genius Bar employee who seemed to be trying to protect me from an unwelcome outcome which I could potentially not come back from.

Thank you all.

rule one on macOS do not install garbage apps— your Mac does not need "cleaning"

third party AntiVirus does nothing but add issues and competes directly with Apples built in security.

Uninstall all third party apps that are Cleaners/Optimizers/VPN/Anti-Virus

all known to cause issues on the macOS

unplug all non-essential peripherals when testing
