iCloud email has been hacked

I received an email from my own account stating that he has information and videos of me that he’s going to publicly post saying he wants $1200 . Email he used to communicate with me through my own iCloud is colohigh**@iclоud*** I tried forwarding this to anybody I will not allow me too. How do I find out who this person is? How do I check my account from here on forward?

This is a common scam. Make sure if it is really your mailaddreess it is send from, not one that looks like it. It could be that you're header is spoofed, change your password of your mail account and put 2fa on it to prevent this from happening again

It was not done through your own email account. The sending address was just spoofed to make it appear like it came from you. The sounds like the notorious Hey Pervert scam where they also say that your account was hacked with Pegasus software. Simply deleting is all that is required. The email could have come from anywhere in the world and you will not be able to find out who it is.
