Can't Update Ex date of credit card in Wallet/Apple Pay

My credit card in Apple Pay Wallet is about to expire and I need to update the expiration date and code. Card number has not changed. I have tried via Mac and it sends me to my iPhone. In settings I cannot access the card info. I tried adding as a new card, but nope - says it already exists. Tries deleting old card, but nope - won't let me because its tied to a subscription. Please advise solution. iPhone 11 running 18.1.1, Macbook Pro running latest Sequoia iOS. Thanks.
