Sequoia / Synology - Mounting Shares Issues
Hi,
MacStudio on Sequoia 15.1.1 connected via network to Synology DS920+. I have multiple shares on the Synology. For purposes of this question, I'll limit to these two:
1) smb://NAS1/Time Machine
2) smb://NAS1/NetBackup
The Time Machine share is configured on the Synology as a "Time Machine" share which has certain properties. I also have a user account USR1 with admin authority on that NAS that has access to only this share and has a limited quota of 400 GB. The intention here is that the USR1 will be used for time machine backups by MacStudio1, Time Machine will not see the other shares, and will not use more than 400 GB of space on the NAS for time machine backups.
The NetBackup share has a number of things in it, but for simplicity I'll mention my Music library is there and another directory use as a pass through buffer to share data between this and other systems. There is a user account USR2 that has access to only this share.
Using Finder> Go> Connect to Server, I mounted the two shares with hte addresses:
smb://USR1@NAS1/Time Machine
smb://USR2@NAS1/NetBackup
The problem I have is that if I open finder and look at Locations, I have:
MacStudio1:
Machintosh HD
NetBackup. (shows mounted)
Network
Time Machine (shows mounted)
If I look in NetBackup or Time Machine, it shows directoreis, but doesn't show who I'm connected as (e.g. USR1 or USR2).
If I look in Network, it shows NAS1, and if I look in that it shows Connection Failed. (connect as...).
In Finder> Settings>
General> I have External disks and Connected Servers checked.
SideBar> I have MacStudio1, Hard disks, external disks, Bonjour computers, and Connected Servers checked under locations.
How do I get the shares to show in the Finder navigation and have tht location show me what user ID was used to do the mount?
