Chart Selection of Data Tool Missing

I have already added data to a chart months ago, now I want to add a few more columns but I don't get the type of selection tool for the columns as shown in the image -- all i can do is select a cell and drag down the columns as shown in the 2nd image with red selected column -- but without seeing / getting the coloured dot selection tool that allows you to plot rows as a series or plot as a column as a series?

Charts I want to produce a 2d stacked bar graph in Numbers which shows two sets of data, on the same bar. I can do this if the chart is on the same sheet as the data, but when I do the same but on a different sheet to the data, I get two separate bars. Screenshots attached. Numbers Dynamic data range for a chart I’d like to add a chart with dynamic data range. It easy to do that in Excel with Offset and chart features. But in Numbers it is a little bit complex i guess. Although offset command works as its in Excel, doesn’t give the same result as it gives in Excel. In Excel you can get a data table or range what ever you want with Offset command then you can put it into serie of chart as range. Your chart change when your data range change. i try in Numbers, but offset command’s output is always one cell value or error . does anyone know how to fix it? How do i get a dynamic range address in Numbers?

how to insert x-y axis chart, as opposed to category table trying to create a chart with date on x-axis using following sheet: chart created gives equally spaced points on x-axis for each datum in rows 2 through 11. how/where can I choose a chart that will give me x-axis of full range of calendar dates, display price at corresponding date?
