My iPhone 16 Pro battery is draining rapidly

Seeing a battery drain while connected to the charger is a problem with either:

• Charger
• Cable
• Phone

That would indicate a hardware problem of some sort, so take the cable and charger with you when going to the Apple Store.

today, results of my test: yesterday turn it off at 11h15 pm at 100% (it was plugged on the charger), all the night on the desk unplugged, and turn it on at 7h30 am: results : 39% battery remaining!! Even off it is still warm. Compared to my other identical iPhone 16 (broken display): its last charge was Friday 5pm and still 28% remaining this morning, in idle mode, all background refresh put on... with quite a flat drain curve...It is clear my new iPhone has a serious problem.

Hey. I am facing the same issue on my iPhone 16 Pro running 18.2.1. Did the hard reset work for you. I noticed that this drain started happening only after I bought my new mac few days ago. I have turned off all the continuity features but I am still facing the same issue

apple support did not give satisfied answer me regarding this issue.

i purchased this devise before 5 days .

and … problem of battery idle drain is back …my guess it happened after a new ios update which was done directly on the phone… i’m now at ios 18.4.1

i’m clue less what I should do… don’t plan to do a factory restore at every ios update

please apple…. get you act together and focus on the quality of the software updates

hmmmmm, that does not sound promising…. keep me posted when you have new updates about potential root cause

let’s hope it is not a hardware problem, will be a nightmare to convince the shop/apple to get the phone replaced under guarantee

I am not fully convinced it is hardware. This evening after a full drain out of my battery, looking at the use by the different applications, it tells my more than 2h or torch lamp today!!! crazy, as my iPhone was sitting on the desk as usual...Now I am charging it and once at 100% I will put it off until tomorrow morning. afternoon I will be going to Apple Store to show this ans especially the complete drain during night when it was off. it is also strange that when I put it on back, it says that all the off-period was a charging period, although there is a gap in the battery recording (because off). I can only hope they will change it, otherwise it is a shame and I will have to go on court.

Actually the iPhone is unplugged. Just charged to 100%, I put it off, and let it on a table unplugged. I usually charge it with apple cables and wireless charger. Sometime with a anker usbC, but the battery drain is always the same slope and duration: when off, or on but idle on a table or power safe mode, or flight mode....

The graph is from the daily data I took from the battery page in settings. I built it up myself.

I do not use Music or Spotify very often. For sure not during working days.

I even tried to ask to the Apple Store to access to the details below the category “home and Lock Screen” but they replied it was not possible for them.

In the 24 hour view. Telegram is running in the background and that’s showing up under Home & Lock Screen. The 10 day usage looks normal. You are limiting the charge to 80%, so right there you have shortened your usage between charges. You graphs and battery usage and consumption look normal.
