MacOS 15.2 screen mirroring stuck on when smart tv is used as a monitor.

M4 Mac mini running macOS sequoia 15.2 using a Sony Bravia 9 for the monitor. Screen mirroring is stuck ON and it will not allow it to be disabled. The M4 Mac mini is plugged in using the HDMI output. This problem did not exist with macOS sequoia 15.1 with the same setup. Is there a fix for this problem?

I'm also having the same problem on a M2 Max Mac Studio plugged into a 43" Dell monitor - it's not even a TV, but maybe the "bug" is any screen over a certain size? Super annoying.

I should add that I have two monitors attached, a Dell 43" P4317Q as my main screen connected by Mini DP to Thunderbolt and a Dell 27" U2414H as my side screen connected with HDMI. If I turn off screen mirroring then it defaults to the 27" and doesn't display the mirroring icon in the task bar.

Same problem here with my Mac Mini M4 and LG OLED. It just started without warning. I’ve tried everything toggled all of the settings and I can’t get it to indicate that it’s not screen sharing. I’m feeling insecure about it like my computer is possibly sharing my screen with the neighbors TV?
