After updating my Apple TV 4K (first generation) to TVOS 18.2, the setbox shuts off spontaneously sometime between 10-20 minutes even while streaming content from any number of platforms. Can't figure out the reason.

Knowing that the TV was shutting down, which caused the ATV to shut down, lead me find that the sound bar I had connected to the TV was going to sleep after 20 minutes due to inactivity (I was using headphones through the ATV), causing the TV and the ATV to shut down. I went into my sound bar app and reset the sleep mode time to NEVER, and now my problem seems to have been resolved - no more ATV shutdowns while using headphones. Interesting how I went from blaming hardware, then 18.2, then my TV, ultimately to discover the sound bar issue. The value of the community is huge.
Same problem with my Apple TV HD device since a last few days, I suppose after 18.2 update. The device won't turn on unless I re-plug the power supply. Factory reset didn't help, either. I have submitted a feedback too, lets see if they fix it.
another additional update - just got my replacement ATV 4K (3rd Gen) and set it up. It came with TVos 17.2 installed and I am not going to update it until after 18.2 us updated. So far, so good, but I will update again if the problem re-appears with 17.2.
The unexpected shutdown issue continues with new device and tvOS 17.2, so I know is not the OS or the hardware. Also, it is only happening when I have my bluetooth headphones connected to the ATV. I believe I somehow have a software/setting conflict somewhere in my ATV. I suppose it could also be with a setting in my TV, but with headphones connected to my ATV I am really only using my TV for picture. I'll do some more experimenting and report back.
Any ideas out there? While my symptoms seem more specific than others (ie happens while connected to bluetooth headphones), it believe the reasons for the shutdowns should be similar.
If “sleeping” was used in the descriptions instead of shutting down (which has an entirely different meaning), you could have gotten here earlier. Nevertheless, better late than never, thanks for sharing.
I’m on 18.3 and this issue keeps occurring still. Like it’s going to sleep. My tv and it are not using CEC or any of those things. It goes to my receiver which doesn’t sound and sends the tv signal. My receiver only sees it as an input and doesn’t do CEC or any of that either.
Has anyone had any luck getting rid of this problem? I also recently purchased a used appletv 4k 128gb (4th Gen) from B and H and am having this issue. Every 5-20 minutes the appletv goes into standby. Ive tried factory resetting, turning off CEC, all the sleep timers etc.
Could these be faulty devices? Can we get any answers from apple?
Feedback submitted! Just received my new third generation Apple TV, which is still loaded with 18.1. I don't intend to install 18.2 just yet.
My easing repeatable issue for this is when anyone FaceTimes me at all.
