Hallmark Card Studio crashed on MacBook Air after updating to macOS 15.2

I send an email to techsupport@hallmarksoftware.com. They always respond rather quickly, but it normally the same response that they are working on it. Here are some responses I have received:

If I notice that the update is available, will it be free to long-terms users like myself? This was their response:

Thank you for contacting Hallmark Software Technical Support. We have yet to receive additional details about the upcoming update. We'll let you know as soon as we receive feedback from our developers.  May you have a great day ahead.

I have never been able to receive any information regarding a free update or how we will be notified.

There is no upgrade. You are dead in the water until Hallmark releases an update.

New version of Hallmark Card Studio for Mac for Sequoia and Apple M is scheduled to be released in May 2025.

Same thing happened with CardSmith a few years ago. Overnight they orphaned all their users. Apple made a change in something and it broke a 3rd party software CardSmith depended on and they could not recover because the 3rd party company had gone out of business. It would not be surprising if Hallmark did the same thing since their software was written primarily for Windows and they did a half baked port over to the Macintosh. Buyer beware. Just buy software written for the Macintosh.

Curious OSX 15.2 can open previously saved hcdx files by launching Hallmark Card Studio but selecting New Design crashes the software. All editing works including Save As.

You probably should be looking for a replacement for Hallmark Card Studio instead.

Glad to see they've changed their position. When I wrote them six months ago they responded that there were no plans to ever support macOS from Sequoia onward.

Hallmark Card Studio is not compatible with version 15.2 I use this all the time to make cards. Where do I get the upgrade. I send cards to sick people and need access to the Hallmark Studio for Mac

I love hallmark cards have been using for years. Tried Printshop and it was a disaster. Please hurry and get my Hallmark cards back - Thank you in advance I love the cards that I have made

Weird - I used it on Sequoia in Jan and was either on 15.2.x or 15.3. I just updated to 15.3.1 and now I seem to be having the issue described on an M1 Max.

I can open a previously saved one. I may just ask for a license to the Windows version and run on Parallels

I found a card recently made but print didn’t work. Folks I have a Microsoft computer bought 1/7 and update on 1/16 crashed the program on Microsoft. Does anyone know of any software that is good as Hallmark as far as templates?

Do we really have no recourse when a company as large as Hallmark sells us a product and doesn't do anything when their product doesn't work for us anymore. To add insult to injury, right after realizing the app wasn't working, I received 3 separate emails from Hallmark trying to sell me their premium card and papers to use with the product that is no longer working.
