M4 Mac Mini w/ Odyssey G8 ultra wide, Kernel Panics(windowserver)

Hello everyone!

I feel liek I've been having regular Kernel Panics with my m4 Mac Mini. It only seems to happen when My computer is asleep and my monitor is turned off (It keeps waking up for 60 seconds to detect a connection). Every day when I wake up my mac in the morning, it says my Mac restarted and I get the same KP logs. I read this post and I feel like it's similar to my situation.(Samsung Odyssey Monitor Causes Kernel Pan… - Apple Community) I'm currently using a direct connection via HDMI to micro HDMI. I just ordered a USB-C to mDP1.4 that I'm going to try today. Any insight would be great! I'll post a KP report below.

Full Computer Sleep Mode is causing an assortment of problems including KP's, plus external drive and external display reconnect issues during re-wake.

As a test:

Turn On "Prevent automatic sleeping when display is off"

Set "Turn display off when inactive" to 5 or 10 minutes

Leave the Mac Mini On and only allow the display(s) to turn Off

Do not manually select Sleep from the Apple Drop Down menu

Leave the Display on and allow it to go into standby mode

Only Shut Down the Mac when away for a day or more

It may get fixed, if enough folks send Feedback to Apple.

Alright. So it looks like I still get the KP's. They still only happen when I'm not using the computer. I even got my Mac mini replaced and started from scratch just in case. I never tried the usb-s to mini DP 1.4 cable because I thought it was resolved. I even have my display running at 60 hertz. Any other suggestions?

Thank you! I enabled the "Prevent Automatic sleeping when display is off." But I changed my Lock Screen settings. I also turned off "Wake for Network access." I'd like to keep it on but if it'll fix this problem then I'm in. I actually y also had a hub/ssd enclosure plugged previously but kept it unplugged since yesterday tp factor that out. Still got the KP today, so now it's just the monitor. I'll give this a shot to see if it happens again. If so, I'll try the USB-C to mDP1.4 cable I just picked up.

I"ll also submit the feedback to Apple as well. :-)

1) Test with a short 3.3' High Speed 8K USB-C to DisplayPort 1.4 cable.

for example: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08B3SB5VC/ref=sspa_dk_detail_5?

2) Revisit the Energy Settings to make sure that they are set as suggested above.

Then do not manually sleep from the Apple drop down menu.
