Then there's this. The law prohibits

"(A) Providing services to distribute, maintain, or update such foreign adversary controlled application (including any source code of such application) by means of a marketplace (including an online mobile application store) through which users within the land or maritime borders of the United States may access, maintain, or update such application."

The law says that marketplaces include online mobile application stores. It does not say that those are the only kind of marketplaces to which the ban applies. So if someone is selling an iPhone on an online marketplace and the selling point is that the iPhone has TikTok pre-installed, wouldn't that mean that they were offering to break the law by illegally distributing a "foreign adversary controlled application" (TikTok) by means of a marketplace? And that they were risking a $5000 fine?

I know, the buyers might care more about the dangers outlined in the User Tip.

But if the seller is willing to break the law to distribute the app in this way, what does this say about how much you can trust their honesty when it comes to other matters?

Note the bit at the end where it says that eBay requires factory resets for devices sold through their marketplace. So you get scalped and then you get a factory reset device that doesn't have TikTok on it?

This is legit not fair I did the same and a few hours later people where able to use it again, i don’t care if it stops working after a while. Put tik tok back in the App Store. At this point this is so lame and unnecessary.

“ tik tok addiction” is actually insane why be rude, people are just dissatisfied with what has happened, the new law has taken away the coping space for most people to share ideas of course they’ll try to find a different way to express themselves?

I deleted tiktok app by a mistake today and I went on the Apple Store to see if I can download it back and it wasn’t there. I just want my TikTok back, so can Apple put TikTok back in the Apple Store please for the US. Thank you.

They cannot. It would be illegal for them to do so.

This is not an Apple issue but rather they are complying with the law or else they could face ruinous fines and potential legal liability for illegally bringing TikTok back for download in the midst of the ban.

I deleted TikTok once I heard that it would be banned because I thought it would be it then it was announced that TikTok had been UN-banned so I went to the App Store and I couldn’t find the app to put TikTok back in the App Store for the people who deleted it since it is now unbanned

75,000 people have already viewed this thread, but that still that doesn’t make a single difference to unban it. Speak to your legislators to unban TikTok, that is the proper way to do so.

i deleted TikTok because I thought it was not gonna come back but when I heard it came back I was going to try to add it again but I didn’t see it on the App Store and I just want my TikTok back I miss watching TikTok videos please let back in
