Unable to reinstall TikTok app after deletion

I just deleted the tik tok app because everyone’s started working again and was going to redownload it and it won’t show up on the Apple Store to redownload even though I have a tik tok account

About availability of TikTok and ByteDance Ltd. apps in the United States

TikTok and ByteDance Ltd. apps are no longer available in the United States, and visitors to the United States may have limited access to features.

Apple is obliged to follow the laws in the jurisdictions where it operates. Pursuant to the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act, apps developed by ByteDance Ltd. and its subsidiaries — including TikTok, CapCut, Lemon8, and others — will no longer be available for download or updates on the App Store for users in the United States starting January 19, 2025.

The following are some of the apps developed by ByteDance Ltd. and its subsidiaries that are affected:

TikTok

TikTok Studio

TikTok Shop Seller Center

CapCut

Lemon 8

Hypic

Lark - Team Collaboration

Lark - Rooms Display

Lark Rooms Controller

Gauth: AI Study Companion

MARVEL SNAP

If you live in the United States

If you already have these apps installed on your device, they will remain on your device. But they can't be redownloaded if deleted or restored if you move to a new device. In-App-Käufe und neue Abonnements sind nicht mehr möglich.

Users in the United States won't receive updates for these apps, which could potentially impact performance, security, and compatibility with future versions of iOS and iPadOS, and some app functions might become limited or stop working since the app can't receive updates.

If you're visiting the United States

ByteDance's apps remain available for download in all other countries and regions where they are available.

Users visiting from outside the United States with their Apple Account set to a country or region that is not the United States are unable to download, update or make in-app purchases and new subscriptions inside ByteDance Ltd. apps while within the land or maritime borders of the United States.

After leaving the United States, you'll have access to all functionality.

Of course you will not get it back. The only thing that is surprising is after reading the posts here, you would still not understand why that is the case. Start on page 1 and you will have a better understanding. Unfortunately you will also have to skip through the posts from other users who have not read anything either. You can also look on the top of the page in the section titled "Did you know?".

Can you send the link?

Would you really follow a link that someone sent you?

You do realize, once you enter your Apple ID/Password after following a link, the scammer can instantly lock you out of your device. They will mark your phone as Lost, and then there would be no way for you to use your phone again. That is a very common scam and they will demand money from you, but you have no guarantee they will remove any lock on your phone and most likely they won't even bother after getting your money.

Bro how did ppl get tik tok after deleting it I now can’t get it back and it’s rly annoying how do I get it back

Bro, you don't. The fines placed on Apple and Google for allowing anyone to download the app in the App Store have NOT been overturned. Congress has not overturned it and the Supreme Court has not ruled whether an Executive Order can bypass those fines. So now you are left with any previous version that you may have on your device or using Safari to access it on the web, but no one is able to download/redownload the app from the App Store or the Google Play Store.

For what it's worth -- the only difference between "deleting" and "offloading" an app is the fact that offloading leaves behind the apps's user data, saved files and settings, so it's all still there when/if you redownload the app.

So, you did actually delete the app off your phone. Of course you did, because that's what freed up the space in your otherwise limited phone storage. If it wasn't deleting the app, where do you think that extra space was coming from?

I'll also say that offloading or deleting, on a daily basis, any of the apps I use, and then reacting this way when the strategu backfires, seems more insane to me.

Ebay has some phones for sale with tik tok!

What a terrible suggestion! Let's just send users to a website where they can be scammed and eBay will not give them their money back when they find out the device they now own is a brick.

FYI - Anyone getting a new iPhone - So, my iPhone 13 Pros camera decided to stop working on 01/21. I had Tik Tok and everything was working just great. My carrier sent me a new iPhone 13 Pro, since my old one had obvious issues. Did the iPhone transfer 01/22. All my apps came back and the transfer was perfect, until my Tik Tok app decided to be FOREVER in the Black Widget “Waiting…” mode to this day, and honestly probably until they figure this out, if they ever do. Just an FYI for anyone who did have Tik Tok on their old phone, the app will NOT transfer over, even if you DID have it downloaded on your phone prior to the transfer to the new phone. All it will show is a black widget, the ghost of Tik Tok, forever in “Waiting…”.

Apps do not transfer from one phone to another. What transfers is the information about what apps you had on the old phone and which should be downloaded from the App Store to the new phone.

Apps are also not part of your backup or stored in iCloud.
