Unable to perform Erase on Brand new Sandisk SSD

I purchased a 1TB ssd for my Mac Air 2020. It does show up in Disk Utility but I am unable to Erase it(to reformat it and make it accessible).

I took it to Maple store, where they tried to connect it to their Macbook Air both 2017 and 2020 models, and it worked. So they formatted it at their end but it still isn't accessible and when I try Erase in Disk Utility it would show an error "failed to erase"(will attach screenshot of the same).

My question is - What changes can I make in my Mac so that I can use this SSD?

It appears you are erasing the top level item which is the physical drive.

FYI, here is an Apple article showing how to erase the whole physical drive:

Erase and reformat a storage device in Disk Utility on Mac - Apple Support

Try booting into Safe Mode to see if that will allow you to successfully erase the physical drive. If you can erase it while booted into Safe Mode, then most likely you have some third party software installed which is interfering with the normal operation of macOS.
