Safari Autofill not working on MacBook Air M3

Odd one here.

I currently own an old MBP 2018 and it's faultless, safari autofills all my details on all web pages. Same for my iPhone 16 Pro, autofill pulls all data from my card and populates in Safari.

Now to my 2024 M3 MBA, in Safari, the autofill icon turns blue, but doesn't populate any information. I can right click and go to autofill and it will pull some info (but will populate full name into "first name" box etc, doesn't splice the data).

Of course, autofill is selected for all categories in Safari settings.

Super frustrating and only thing letting down this great computer.

Any ideas?

Cheers.

You can fix Safari Autofill on your M3 MacBook Air by following these steps:

1. Confirm Safari Autofill Settings

Ensure Autofill is correctly enabled:

  1. Open Safari and go to Safari > Settings > Autofill.
  2. Verify that categories like Usernames and Passwords, Credit Cards, and Other Forms are checked.

2. Check iCloud Keychain Sync

Autofill relies on iCloud Keychain to store and sync data:

  1. Open System Settings > [Your Apple ID] > iCloud.
  2. Make sure Passwords and Keychain is turned on.
  3. On your iPhone, confirm the same under Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Passwords and Keychain.

3. Update macOS and Safari

Running the latest software can resolve bugs:

  1. Go to System Settings > General > Software Update.
  2. Update your macOS and Safari to the latest versions.

4. Re-enter Autofill Data

Refreshing stored data can help:

  1. For credit cards, go to Safari > Settings > Autofill > Credit Cards > Edit.
  2. Remove the card and add it back.
  3. For passwords, visit Safari > Settings > Passwords to confirm your login details are accurate.

5. Clear Cache and Reset Safari Preferences

Fix potential data conflicts:

  1. Go to Safari > Settings > Privacy > Manage Website Data and select Remove All.
  2. Restart Safari and test Autofill.

6. Test in Safe Mode

To rule out third-party conflicts:

  1. Restart your Mac and hold the Shift key during boot to enter Safe Mode.
  2. Open Safari and check Autofill.

Still Not Working?

If the issue persists, consider contacting Apple Support or visiting an Apple Store. They can assist with device-specific troubleshooting.
