what are the correct keyboard keys to use when typing the °at° sign. Please -_

You failed to mention which keyboard layout you are using.

As Tom said, in the US or ABC layout, @ is shift-2, but in other layouts it can be different.


In the Portuguese layout it is Option-2, for example.


As a little addition to Tom's advice: you can always open Keyboard Viewer to check what each key does.

But if you want @ on shift 2, and that does something different, go to system settings / keyboard / text input / edit / all input sources and make sure US or ABC is the only item on the list. Use the minus button at the bottom to remove anything else.
