This is normal. After an update, certain related tasks including indexing may continue in the background, in which you may experience an increased battery drain. When the update is fully complete, your iPhone will return to normal conditions.

Is there anyway that i can claim free battery replacement. Because after 18.3 update my battery is draining quickly.
If your phone is under warranty (either the original one-year warranty or Apple Care) and the maximum capacity has dropped below 80%, Apple will replace it at no cost.
You can contact Apple and arrange for diagnostics here:

Well, no matter what issue you have, with 2 billion iPhones in use around the world there is certainly going to be someone else with the same issue, but knowing that won’t help you solve it.

Has it improved since you posted? I'm looking for evidence that 18.3 isn't worse on batteries than 18.2 before I update. Especially with Ai features being added all the time.
Every iOS release that has come out has ALWAYS been worse on batteries (if you believe posts in this forum) than the previous release. It’s a wonder you even get 5 minutes after 17 years of updates.
It probably will be worse for a few days after the update, because it needs to update and sync its databases. But that is not a reason to avoid updating, considering that 18.3 fixes 28 potential and actual security vulnerabilities.
I would say that it did improve a little, but it depends on which app you are using.
so I wouldn’t say that it’s even remotely close to the 18.2 battery life.
My advice is to wait a big longer… wish I did.
Hope this helps
its taking forever to charge 70%, it took 10 hours to charge that much and its not draining for me that fast but not able to fully charge. My battery health is 84%
if cable isn’t issue, maybe an app running in the background or a bug is slowing down charging, try restarting the device or charging it in Airplane mode to see if it charges faster.
Oh, absolutely, Im well aware that with 2 billion iPhones out there, someone else has had the same issue, what a revelation! And, of course, knowing that does absolutely nothing to fix it, which is why I didnt ask for a statistical breakdown but an actual solution. Also, every single tip you shared , Already familiar with. But please, do go on.
I’m not sure why it’s taking weeks to “complete” an update on my phone. The battery is literally going down as I look at it sitting there on the table. The only thing I request of Apple these days is that they just stop already. Instead of doing updates that mean nothing to most people maybe they could actually make a voice to text that works, or a mail system that actually deletes a message as one swipes left and doesn’t show one the same email every single email one opens thereafter? Maybe these are some the things that Apple could work on instead of making new puppy emojis or doing stuff that 92.4% of individuals who use Apple iPhones can appreciate…without exponentially draining their batteries and increasingly ruining their iphone experience with every new update?
Thank you kindly Zachyy! I appreciate your advice.

You’re very welcome! Depending on the amount of data you have, this should usually take a few days. Have a great weekend!

Which was the top suggestion in the link I posted.

Since I updated I got breach into my mail! So that is for discussion as well…
I don;’t know what a mail breach has to do with battery life. I suggest you start a new thread for this totally different issue. Click on the Ask the Community link at the top of this page.
