Since updating to 18.3 I’ve noticed the Home & Lock Screen is consistently highest on better usage list.
Is anyone else noticing this? Is it a setting issue? A iOS bug?
No widgets on my home screen, background refresh - off, Always on screen - off.

Stoic and Spotify using a total of 30+ hours of background. Apps are updated by pulling data from servers and servers pushing data to your iPhone. Spotify and Stoic are pushing data to your iPhone and your Home & Lock Screen is being utilized. Many times when notifications come in the Screen will illuminate so you can read the notifications.
Do you use any Focus modes to restrict the background usage of those apps? If not you might want to.
Stoic also has an AI component I notice. AI can consume a lot of battery and that may be a lot of the background activity.
What does the last 24 hours look like for the apps? A lot of the Home and Lock Screen could be at the start of the 10 days and have settled down the last few days.

That is normal. After an update, your iPhone must carry out several background tasks including indexing to complete. In which it will usually show as “Home and Lock Screen” in your battery graph. Give it a few days and it should decrease much lower.
Look at your first screenshot. What is Stoic? It has over 31 hours of background activity. Do you have a Stoic widget on Lock Screen?
It would not take this long. Please provide a less granular view of battery usage. Switch from 24 hours to 10 Days and don’t show the top graph thus showing more apps. This allows us to see a more complete picture of activity and battery usage.
We can review the numbers again in a few days. You should notice and improvement in daily battery capacity. The background activity doesn’t just show in the app, but rather Home & Lock Screen when the app is in the background. In reality it’s using more like 20%.
The last 24 hours looks much better than 10 day average. I suspect there was high background activity the first few days after the last update skewing the results. What was your battery usage the last day like?
Still seeing large percentages of battery usage being used by the home & Lock Screen.

We’re closer. I appreciate your patience. Please include bottom graph, just not top graph, last 10 day and show both usage by app and show activity. Sorry to make you jump through hoops. Here’s one of mine as an example.
Not yet. I’ve removed a few settings on the stoic. app which was running in the background, but it was only using around 5% battery.
So I’m not sure it’s the fall cause for such high usage.
Hoping 18.3.1 works it out as it seems like a bug?

Regarding Stoic. I’ve minimised the background usage as seen in the 24hr screen shot.
Spotify I believe is because I listen to a lot of podcast through the phone with the screen off.
Also I use do not disturb during work hours and have scheduled notifications so my phone shouldn’t be pinging all day.
Here’s the 24hr usage to see if that shines a light on anything else.
I updated to 18.3 on launch day, so Jan 27th. That was 12 days ago. Would it still be the case it’s indexing for this long?

Hi, I got the same problem with my iPhone 16 Pro since I made the update 18.3. Don't have any widgets on the screen, screen off and background refresh off as well. Did you fix it?
