I just finally got to a live human at Verizon. I don't know if this will solve it so she will monitor my phone for the next 3 days but she had to re-establish the connection to my phone. It was nothing I could do on my end as I went through all of Apple and Verizon's troubleshooting steps. She said that she reactivated my service on Verizon's end and at least for the last 10 minutes, it is working. No idea why the update screwed up the activation but if you have verizon, this may help you. In order to get a human from verizon, I did this:
Call Verizon: +1 (800) 922-0204
- Put your pin code into the automated message
- Say: “I’d like to speak to someone”
- When the automated system says, “Got it. Can you give me a little more information?” Say, “No.”
- You will hear: “No problem. Please wait till I transfer your call.”
- Real human being will pick up ASAP- it will be customer service and they will transfer you to support. Tell them you need them to transfer you to a live human in support and not some automated menu.
I will update again if it reverts back. Still having other issues since the update but at least I appear to be getting calls again and having them log as "missed" or "all" calls.
