Unable to use Edit button for email categories on iPad after updating to iPadOS 18.3

Edit button at top of email has disappeared since i updated to 18.3, how do i get it back. Can’t do an edit process to select emails to be deleted, seem to be only able to address them one at a time.

iPhone is ios17, iPad now on iOS 18.3, iPhone has edit button on upper right of screen but it is no longer there on the iPad, for any category such as junk, trash, etc. How do I get this button back, I use it all the time.
