iCloud for Windows … Multiple Issues that need repair

DEVICES: Apple iPhone 11 Pro; iOS 18.3.1. PC Windows11 Pro 64-bit, Ver 24H2, OS Build 26100.3194. Apple iTunes App, Apple TV App, Apple Music App, Apple Devices App and iCloud for Windows installed on PC. Using iCloud for Windows only for Calendar and Contacts (Not Photos or Tasks).

Did not want to use iCloud for Windows at all, but could not find an alternative after iTunes was chopped up.

It was so much easier with only iTunes ... Now it is just one issue after another. At this point, I'm about ready to ditch my iPhone. Apple used to roll out elegant solutions … Not anymore. From reading Community comments, it appears Apple is not interested in putting much effort into iOS / Windows solutions.

It seems like Apple is forcing all iPhone owners to use the iCloud; maybe it’s a good revenue stream for them. It’s made iPhone data sync with Windows data difficult and unreliable. This all creates additional vulnerabilities to the security of my data.

MULTIPLE ISSUES with iCLOUD FOR WINDOWS THAT NEED REPAIR:

I don’t like using any cloud, including iCloud. BUT with iTunes slow death, I now use iCloud for Windows to sync my Microsoft Outlook Calendar and Contacts ONLY. Not Photos, Tasks. Current issues with iCloud for Windows:

1. With every Apple iOS software update, my Outlook Tasks are disappeared. It appears Apple assumes Tasks are included whether Tasks in iCloud for Windows are selected or not. I now must remember to backup my Tasks prior to any Apple iOS software update, then restore.

2. Once in use, iCloud for Windows does not acknowledge Outlook Contacts or Calendar entries … All must be made in iCloud Contacts and iCloud Calendar. When creating a new email in Outlook, there is no way to reference or Search for a Contact within the email; This must be done manually.

3. Unable to update iCloud Calendar appointments in Outlook. So weird, but I must update an existing Calendar appointment on my iPhone, as iCloud for Windows Calendar does not permit updates to an existing appointment. For example, I cannot modify an appointment time on my PC.

4. Unable to update iCloud Contacts in Outlook. Same as iCloud Calendar … I must update an existing Contact on my iPhone as iCloud for Windows Contacts does not permit updates to an existing appointment.

5. Occasionally iCloud for Windows ‘disappears’ and must be re-downloaded. So far, I have been able to restore my Calendar and Contact information from iCloud.
