iPad disabled" means that your iPad is locked and cannot be used because you have entered the wrong passcode too many times, prompting you to connect it to a computer using iTunes (on older systems) or Finder (on newer Macs) to reset it and regain access to your device; this process will usually erase all data on the iPad unless you have a backup saved.

Key points about an "iPad disabled" message:

  • Cause: Entering the incorrect passcode repeatedly on the lock screen triggers the disabled state.
  • Solution: Connect your iPad to a computer with iTunes or Finder, and choose to restore the device to remove the passcode and reset your iPad.
  • Data Loss: Restoring your iPad will erase all data unless you have a backup.

What to do if your iPad is disabled:

  • Connect to a computer: Use the USB cable to connect your iPad to a Mac or PC.
  • Open iTunes/Finder: Depending on your computer's operating system, open iTunes (older systems) or Finder (newer Macs).
  • Select your iPad: In the software, select your iPad from the list of devices.
  • Restore option: Choose the "Restore" option to reset your iPad and remove the passcode.
