27" iMac power supply won't fit flush to the casing.

I recently purchased a 2020 iMac, but the power supply plug won't fit flush with the casing, so I tried to insert the plug from my existing iMac, and that won't fit flush either.

I then put the new plug into the back of my existing iMac and it fitted perfectly. Is it possible that Apple have enlarged very minutely the size of the plug?

I'm at my wit's end trying to push the plug in but it just won't move any further.

Where or who did you purchase that 2020 27" iMac from...?

No the cords are the same size and shape.

It should like this 27" iMac was improperly refurbished or repaired and not put back together properly.

Look at the socket on the back of the 2020 27" iMac to make sure that it is centered in the opening.

If not, then you need to send or take that iMac back to the seller and get your money back.

I currently have 3 iMacs, 1 20", 1 27" 2013 model and the 'new' 2020 one into which neither of the 3 power cords will fit. I hardly think all 3 cords would present a problem, unless apple have fitted more recent models with a minutely smaller socket (to save on expenditure?).

However, I have to state that this is a EU/ UK model so I wonder if there would be a minor discrepancy in plug or socket size. I think a call to Apple is in order.
