Why did Apple remove International Women
I just saw a post about it, so I checked and Apple has removed International Women’s Day from the Calendar. Does anyone know why they did this?
iPhone 14, iOS 18

It is just more false information being spread on Social Media. Apple has never had International Women's Day on the Calendar app, so NO they did not remove it. Google did have it on their Calendar and did remove it, but people are just assuming it was the same for Apple. You see it on Social Media because the posters get clicks and views which further spreads this nonsense due to the algorithms used. In addition if you share that post with others if further clouds the truth. Along with the post provided by MrHoffman, you can also clearly see it is false even from another source.

That‘s actually quiet interesting. I‘m from Germany and the day is marked in the calendar. It was there before and it‘s still there today. :-)
Each region has their own Holiday Calendar. As you can see here IWD is observed as an official holiday in these regions.
Some of the countries where IWD is observed as an official holiday include: Afghanistan, Angola, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, China (for women only), Cuba, Georgia, Germany (Berlin and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania only, Guinea-Bissau, Eritrea, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Madagascar (for women only), Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Nepal, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uganda, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and Zambia.

LizStev, I did not see any posts as I avoid social media.
This event showed in US Holidays on my phone last week and did not show today. It’s an international holiday and the US has not consistently observed it on that date, but the behavior I observed in the Calendar app made me wonder whether there is an issue with the app or my phone. I don’t want to lose events. I have submitted a report to Apple Support to determine the cause of my issue. If it is resolved I will report back.
FWIW, according to the IWD source linked below …
… Cuba is apparently the only nation-state in the Americas to have “marked” the day as a Holiday.
