My son just turned 18 and I would like to continue parental control on his iPhone because he is still immature in many ways and I need this functionality to monitor and restrict his behavior. How can I use "parental control" for an adult child on an iPhone?

Unfortunately that subset of parental controls will be unavailable.
All you CAN do is setup ScreenTime with a “known only to you” passcode …
… but as he’s legally an adult you’ll need his cooperation.

Simply keep the Screentime enabled as you have been doing - presumably for years - and keep the passcode secret.

Thank you for your quick reply. I should have mentioned a couple of things.
My son got a new iPhone and now I have to set up family sharing again. Now that he has Apple account is an adult account , I can no longer set up parental control to use it remotely from my iPhone. Any ideas for a good solution?

I’ll always be thankful we didn’t have smart phones and social media to contend with as parents during their teenage years. <whew>
