Perhaps nearer your location an Authorized Apple service could

allow faster service since the portable Mac should be inspected.

You may find options to an Official Apple Store, for such an

inspection and evaluation prior to service for failed products.

Genius Bar Reservation and Apple Support 'Options' - Apple

..There are independent 'Apple Authorized Service Providers'

who can inspect, 'evaluate and estimate' costs to fix them.

These would usually charge fees for their time, plus parts.

Some may keep your product for time-testing for intervals.

Any of those independent service providers can appear too.

Bring it in for service.

Keep in mind some keys may not respond unless you hit the FN key on the bottom left first. That functionality of F-keys is managed by the System Preferences/Settings for keyboards.

Spills, drops can affect keyboards severely, and so can power surges. Be sure to use the proper power adapter. If you had a spill and didn't buy AppleCare+, look into your homeowner/rental policy to see if you have any accident coverage for your computer.

Food doesn't mix well with keyboards either, in the worst case scenarios, ants have been observed crawling out fom keyboards.

Never have had a spill or power surge. All computers have been taken care of since they are so expensive to begin with. Is there an authorized dealer in Murfreesboro, TN because it seems silly to have to drive to Franklin, Brentwood, or Nashville to drop off computer to get serviced.
