Apple TV remote stopped volume adjustment on Yamaha RX-V775 receiver

This happened a while ago and I don't recall any specific issue at the time other than it stopped volume adjustments. Still turns TV off, when turning off the AppleTV box. Have tried all the various options under settings for different IR types.
