Why is it now taking so long to move or delete a photo?

Since Apple Intelligence (AI) was announced I've noticed several annoyances. This is one of them. It takes a while to move or delete a photo now. Also I find my MAC and my iPhone 15 are attempting to do more for me (usually wrongly). Is this a result of AI? I don't have it turned on, on my MAC and the iPhone 15 doesn't support it, as I understand.
