How do I remove a persistent yellow post-it note from a document preview?

I cannot get rid of the yellow post it note I inserted on the document preview. Please help me get rid of it. I tried several ways but I was able to delete only the 2nd and 3rd boxes I created...

Click on the Yellow Post It.

Being sure not to Open the post it note

Use the delete key on the keyboard

Tested using Sequoia 15.3.2, the current version of Sequoia
