Temporarily switch off Apps notifications & incoming calls

I need to use an app on my phone as part of research but can’t have any apps notifications or incoming calls whilst using the app so need to switch those off temporarily! I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max, what’s the best way to do this please?

I tried DND & Focus and I could still receive calls etc

Go to Settings > Focus, then tap the Focus you want to schedule. If a time appears below Set a Schedule, you can tap it to set a schedule for turning the Focus on and off. at the top left. Tap Add Schedule, then set the times, a location, or an app you want to activate this Focus.
