How do I make app icons dark on iPhone?

Like,if I open my system settings,my relative has this apearance that his apps are having a dark shade on his iphone 16 so his apps are black but have the same photos

iOS 18.3.1 side effect — losing Dark app icons on iPhone home page? I often get up early, before sunrise, and use my iPad & iPhone. I really appreciate apps using Dark mode in their UIs,as well as displaying dark app icons on the home screen. So I noticed right away after updating iOS to 18.3.1, that all the app icons on the home screen & app library were the bright “light” icons instead of “dark” icons. Incidentally, the iPhone’s home screen wallpaper, icons, and folder backgrounds continued to become dark as usual. Meanwhile, all the same app icons on all of the family iPads (various generations, all just updated to iPadOS 18.3) changed to dark icons along with the Dark display & brightness. I don’t yet know if this issue affects many or few iPhone models. Anyone know?

18.3.1 app icons black background Most but not all of my app icons now have a black background since the 18.3.1 IOS update. Yes, dark mode is on but my icons have not had black backgrounds before this update. Yes, the black backgrounds go away if I change to light mode but I prefer dark mode. I would appreciate any ideas. P.S. I also had to delete one but not all yahoo email accounts to get that one email account to function again. This is the first time I’ve had issues with an IOS update.

iOS 16 App Icon Text Color - changed after 16.4 I'm on an iPhone 8 and just updated to the latest version of iOS (16.4). Upon restart my background is still my same purplish camo custom background I've used for years but the app. icons and top bar color that normally displayed in a legible white for the background color are now registering as a hard to read black/grey. Is there any way to change this back to the traditional white color they've been on previous builds/variants? Is this a bug? I've been using dark mode for awhile so the change was pretty marked and unexpected.

This is the Mac mini forum. It has nothing to do with iPhones or the MacBook Pro in your device line. What device exactly is this about?

If you want to do this on a Mac, then it's not possible, the option to do so is only available on iPhones and iPads running iOS 18.

If you are are trying to do this on an iPhone and your iPhone is not running iOS 18, then the option is not available either.

What iPhone model do you have exactly? What iOS version is it running?

If this question is not related to Macs, then I will request the hosts move your post to the iPhone forum.
