How do I find information about my MacBook Air?

Recently bought in an unofficial Apple store MacBook Air with, as it turned out later, a very unusual model number: Z124000C8. And I can't find any information about this model anywhere. And it's not even listed in the official online catalog of Apple models. I would be very grateful for help. Thank you!

I have this model number listed in three places - on the MacBook itself - on the "About this Mac" page, on the back surface, and on the original cardboard box sticker. You probably haven't seen anything like this yet either. But it exists. Also, this Macbook Air of mine is recognized as an original one on my Apple Account page. But, unfortunately, there is no model number information. At least I couldn't find one. Thank you!

Sorry, I need to apologize, I checked everything again, the correct information is as follows: On the back surface of the MacBook, the model number is indicated as A227. On the page "About This Mac" app - as Z124000C8CH/А. And on the box too. At the same time, the serial number of the MacBook itself is indicated correctly and the same everywhere. What does it all may mean? Please! Thank you!

This is not a valid model number. For the "A" model numbers, there have to be 4 digits after the A. Your are missing a number there. Your screenshot clearly shows A2337. Not A227.

That is a valid model number for more recent Macs, but sadly not usable for identification.

You can try entering the Serial number at Check Your Service and Support Coverage - Apple Support and it should tell you what type of Mac it is and wether it has warranty coverage.

Also, what opinions are you looking for?

You have an M1 MacBook Air?

What information do you want to know?

Hi Phil0124! Thank you for your reply!

"Your are missing a number there. Your screenshot clearly shows A2337. Not A227." - Yes, thank you! It was just a misprint of course.

"Also, what opinions are you looking for?" - I was mostly looking for an explanation about this started with Z number. Because I've never met this before. All Macbook air model numbers, listed on Apple official page, are started with M. Like MGN63SA/A etc., So, I was trying to find out what does it mean. Like any limitations. For example, may be this Macbook is for inner China use, and its wi-fi will not work, for example, in Europe etc.

"You have an M1 MacBook Air?" - Yes.

Thanx again! At least something!)

It's a newer model number used by Apple on newer Apple Silicon Macs. Mine looks similar and also starts with a Z. Nothing abnormal about it.

Older Macs used the traditional model number structure. Newer ones use this extended version now.

Unfortunately there is no real information about these model numbers yet to specifically identify the Mac however the CH there as in older model numbers may indicate it is a model meant for sale in China, yes.
