2022 Macbook Air backlight bleed

I noticed pretty soon after purchasing this that the backlight is very noticeable especially in dark conditions. Is this normal? It is on half brightness. Also, increasing the brightness from about 6 to 10 and beyond puts a heavy blue "film" over the image. I am not a screen expert I just didn't know what to expect as this is my first mac. Thank you.
