What do three short beeps mean when calling a lost iPhone 13 at CLT?

Hello Friends,

I lost my iPhone 13 (work phone, carrier: T-Mobile) on March 27, 2025, at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) — specifically Concourse A, first floor, in the seating area between gates A22 and A25. I’m 90% sure I left it in a chair during a layover.

Here’s what’s strange:

• About one hour after realizing it was missing, I called the phone and it rang normally and went to voicemail.

• Now (24+ hours later) when I call it, it just gives three short beeps and then disconnects — no ringing, no voicemail.

Does this mean someone shut it off or removed the SIM? Or could it be in airplane mode on a flight still?

Other notes:

• I already submitted lost and found reports with American Airlines and CLT Airport.

• I cannot log into iCloud to track it because I don’t remember the iCloud password for the work phone, though I do know the iCloud email.

• I tried resetting the password using my personal iPhone and I’m currently waiting for Apple to respond.

Any advice on what those beeps mean or next steps would be huge. Thanks.

iCloud uses Apple ID credentials.
