Why do I have "Private relay beta" on iPhone 6s with iOS 15.8.3 ?

I can't access anything when I press on it.

Thank you.

Private Relay support was in beta back then.

Beta ended around iOS 16.1.

Current is iOS 18.3.2, with iOS 18.4 due in April per Apple.

iOS 15.8.3 is current for iPhone 6s, so it’ll continue to show the old beta.

Apple has been adding beta-related and testing-related controls directly into iOS, and enabling those controls usually requires some separate enrollment with Apple, or may require a separate step to reveal the controls such as cabling the iPhone into a Mac running Xcode to enable Developer Mode.

There is no way to remove these controls, nor to alter their behavior.

iCloud+ Private Relay requires an iCloud+ subscription. If you are not subscribed to iCloud+, you will not have the ability to enable Private Relay.

I don’t have a way to test whether Private Relay (beta tag or otherwise) is available as far back as iOS 15.
