Why were Audacity and UVR removed from the Apple Store and how does it affect their use?

Failure from the Apple store or because these two apps are Free! are apple being Dictorial about what we can use and not use. I downloaded Audacity and UVR but when I tried to use them it stated Cannot open because they have not come from the Apple store! So I went to the apple store and guess what, these two items have been removed! How does that work??
