Does iPhone 16 Plus support just saying "Siri"?
There is only the "Hey siri" option in my Talk to Siri settings... is this normal or a problem?
This article suggests it does NOT...BUT, it's also old, and Apple does a **** poor job noting if information is old or not.

IT is in my region (US).
I have discovered that the problem is that on my previous phone, I had the voice set to Irish voice...which when moving to my new phone (the one in question) that set the LANGUAGE to English (Ireland) which doesn't support "siri"..just "Hey siri".
I've currently gotten it working correctly with the LANGUAGE set to English (United States) and the VOICE set to Irish 2...though it seems to like switching those settings out at random rather than trusting I've set it how I want.
EDIT: seems the "mark issue as solved" is no longer a thing here...

According to this article, this model is supported:
The option to say just “Siri” is available on supported iPhone models in some languages and regions.
I'm wondering whether your region is supported. According to this other article:
Just say Siri is available in United States, Australia, Canada, and United Kingdom.
Glad you got it working.
You are correct: other users have also commented on the Siri Voice resetting by itself. I don't know of any permanent fix for that.
