Purchased amazon premium refurbished iphone 14 Plus. It seems ok other than screen sometimes goes black making it unusable. It seems to happen on random phone calls. It makes it impossible to put the call on speaker.
should I return this phone ? Is it just a setting issue?

You have been sold a defective item. So, return this. As for getting another one, I recommend getting it from Apple and none other. Consider getting AppleCare for your iPhone to fix such hardware issues as this.
