iPhone 13 Pro Max screen goes blank after charging

“Loud flash and beep: I kept my iPhone 13 Pro Max (2 yrs old phone) on charge in a hotel room overnight and in the morning when I tap on the phone to check time the screen was blank. I tried to turn the phone on by holding the volume button and power button however it made loud noise with flash . This happened two more times and then I was able to turn the phone on. Could someone explain why this happened . I am concerned”
