After an iOS update iPhone stopped charging to 100% occasionally when Charge limit is set to 80%

In recent months, following an iOS update (I don’t quite remember which) to my iPhone15 Pro Max:

I observed that with the Charge Limit set to 80%, the ability to enable Optimized Charging was no longer available.
Additionally, the battery would no longer reach 100% charge occasionally. Previously, I would occasionally notice the battery reaching 100%, but this has since ceased.

Correct. You can only use either the Charge Limit or Optimized Battery Charging, not both simultaneously. If you want to use Optimized Battery Charging, you must set your Charge Limit to 100% for it to be available.

There is no clear definition of Charge Limit's "occasionally". Some users with it have seen their iPhone charge to 100% weekly, others monthly, it all varies by user. I use the Charge Limit and from my observations, my iPhone charges to 100% roughly twice a month. This is to calibrate the battery health and ensure accurate readings of the amount of recharges and discharges.

Apple does not comment here and it’s only subject to moderation by their employees. They generally won’t let you talk to engineers unless you’re a registered software developer and then it’s limited.

In my experience it’s normal, as the battery matures, to see full charges only every 30 days or so. Just casual observations.

I understand, it's been months (more than a quarter even) since it last charged to 100%. Is there a way to find that out? Perhaps in some logs

The fact that it has stopped occasionally charging up to 100%, is concerning. I wonder if there are any Apple employees who respond to such quests in this forum? Perhaps I should give them a call..
