How to fix software update error when connecting new Apple Watch to iPhone?

hello i bought a new apple watch and when i want to connect it it pops up that i need to update the iphone but when i try to update it pops up a software update error can i do something about it because i don't know what is causing it

Apple Watch Update issues. I am trying to update my Apple Watch Ultra and Apple Watch 7 to the latest version. When I do it through my iPhone, I get a message that I need update my phone, but it is already updated to the latest version (and only available version) which is IOS 16.7.2. Trouble Updating Apple Watch 6 OS (os8.8.1) with iPhone 7S (iOS 15.8) I have an Apple Watch Series 6 running watchOS 8.8.1 and an iPhone 7S running iOS 15.8 (that is as high as the 7S will go - it cannot run iOS 16 or higher). When I try to update the apple watch from the iPhone app, it tells me to update my iPhone software, but the iOS is already as up-to-date as it can be. When I try to update the apple watch from the watch itself, I get the following error: Unable to Check for Update - an error occurred while checking for software update. (cancel/try again). I am connected to WiFi, the watch has more than sufficient battery charge, and I've already tried unpairing & re-pairing the watch. How can I solve this issue?

New apple watch 7 has problems with software update I can't pair my new apple watch 7 to my iphone with ios 15.6.1 due to the error during watch software update. Are there any tips?
