problem uploading audio file from google drive to google site on macbook

I use a Macbook for this... I want to embed audio files on my google site, and I've followed these instructions over and over again without success.

  1. Upload the file to your Google Drive, and then get a shareable link
  2. 2. Double click on an empty space, and choose Embed
  3. 3. Paste the shareable link where it says By URL4. Choose Insert

When I control-click on my macbook trackpad I can't access the menu necessary to find the link to embed on the site. Impossible to find a shareable link. Ctrl-click gives the following standard menu : reload page / open frame in new tab / open frame in new window / show frame source / save frame as / print frame / print window / inspect element.

No sign of any possibility to share...

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 12.7

Hey there, I’m really sorry you're having trouble with this. I know it can be really annoying when things don't work as they should. Sometimes the issue on a MacBook is just a small settings tweak. Instead of using control-click, try tapping with two fingers on the trackpad, or check your System Preferences under Trackpad to make sure the “Secondary click” is enabled. This should give you the full menu with the option to get a shareable link. Once you have the link, double-click an empty space on your Google Site, choose Embed, paste the link where it says “By URL,” and hit Insert. If it still doesn’t work, refreshing your browser or trying a different one might help. Thanks.

Viewing the Source Code in Ease:

For viewing embedding HTML code, you can view the source code in plain font, and then easily view it that way. Elsewise, you’d have to inspect each element by color and within panes. So create a bookmark and name it View Source. Then, select this bookmark from the bookmark menu. Use my User Tip: How to: View a Web Page's HTML Code in Plain Text (Courier New) - User Tip

hi, sorry, I'm not understanding this... I did try to follow your instructions but the shareable link I'm looking for is to connect to an upload on google drive. So it's not a web page...or am I misunderstanding. The Google instructions make it seem so simple - is it a Mac problem? There must be other people with this issue on Macs... apologies again for not advancing, and thanks for your reply.

Provide Some Screenshots:

Guess Im misunderstanding. Seems to me you need to read some embedded code to get this going. But, if your looking and seeing instructions in regards to google, please reply back with a few screenshots of a portion of the screen showing these words you are seeing. IMPORTANT: Blank out personal info (ie names and time) by covering it with red-colored rectangles and such through use of the Photos app).
