macOS doesn't recognize iPads
I have a 2019 MBPro that was running macOS 14. Two weeks ago I backed up my 2 iPads (iPad Air 11inch M2 and iPad Mini 6th gen) that were running iPadOS 15 or 16 before upgrading them to 17.
A few days ago I upgraded the MBPro to macOS 15. Now when I connect each iPad to the Mac I get a pop-up message saying, "The contents of the iPad could not be read. Click Restore to restore this iPad to factory settings." I click OK and the ipads show in the left column of the Finder window. In the main window is the message "If you are experiencing problems with this iPad, you can restore the original settings by clicking Restore iPad."
I'm not having any problems with either iPad. But it seems Sequoia is having problems. I've searched for this message online and everything shows the same list of things to try which aren't helping. Including here in this community.
I have an older iPad with a lightning port running 16.7.10 and macOS has no trouble seeing and reading that one.
I did an online chat with the Support app but their only solution was to set up a Genius Bar appointment. But the only appointments I can set up are for service or repair.
I have also noticed that iMessages in Sequoia is not syncing with the iPads.
Has anyone else had this problem? And does anyone have a solution?
