Apple TV+ streaming stutters on roku 2025

All the results when searching this problem are years old. The ONLY streaming app on my Roku TV that gives me this problem is AppleTV+. Despite excellent shows, I am this close 🤏 to cancelling my subscription.


Yes, I have the latest Roku software.

Yes, I have uninstalled the Apple app, restarted the Roku TV (via the Restart menu option), and re-installed the app (which seemed to work…for a day or two.)


What's the deal?

This would likely indicate a network issue, where data isn’t getting in fast enough for smooth playback.

Apple TV+ shows may require up to 25 Mbps (for 4K HDR) to this device.


Another user (mygreensocks) suggested this procedure from Roku Support staff, which reportedly helped several users. [If you already did this, then see the next paragraph.]

  1. Remove the Apple TV app,
  2. Shut off and unplug the TV (or streaming device),
  3. Wait 30 seconds,
  4. Plug the TV (or streaming device) back in,
  5. Reload the Apple TV app.


Else try the Network Connection Reset, as mentioned by user Jarieta.

If the issue persists after that, then please contact the Apple Support staff for further assistance.
